Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Raise the vehicle.

2. Remove the heat shield nuts and lower the heat shield onto the muffler.

3. Measure the length of the free thread of the parking brake adjusting rod (up to the adjusting nut).

4. Remove adjusting nut 105 from the parking brake rod.

5. Remove the locking plate and equalizer.

6. Remove the rubber bushing from the hole in the body floor pan.

7. Lower the vehicle.

8. Remove the rear covers of the seat guide rails.

9. Remove the driver's seat from the vehicle.

10. Roll back the floor carpet.

11. Parking brake lever mounting bolts.

12. Remove parking brake lever 102 and remove the adjusting rod (from the underbody side).

13. Parking brake indicator switch from the lever.

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Install the parking brake indicator switch on the lever.

102. Tighten.

Tighten the switch to torque 25 N·m.

2. Install parking brake lever 102 to the body bracket. Tighten the lever mounting bolts.

Tighten to torque 25 N·m.

3. Spread the carpet back into place.

4. Driver's seat. Tighten the seat mounting bolts to torque 20 N·m.

5. Right seat guide rail cover.

6. Lower the parking brake lever.

7. Raise the vehicle.

8. Put the rubber bushing on the adjusting rod and insert it into the hole in the body floor pan.

9. Connect cable 106 to the equalizer.

9a. Secure the equalizer and clamp on the threaded end of the rod, and screw on a new self-locking nut so that it takes the same position as before disassembly.

10. Check the parking brake adjustment. If necessary, readjust it. See subsection 17.

11. Heat shield.

12. Lower the vehicle.
