Checking the Brake Force Regulator
GENERAL INFORMATION.
Required tools:
– pressure gauge (dual).
Use the pressure gauges to check the brake force regulators for proper operation. If
During the test, measure pressure simultaneously in the front wheel cylinders
and rear brakes located diagonally. First test one circuit of the system, then the second.
Measure
PROCEDURE.
1. Unscrew the bleeder valve from one of the rear wheel cylinders and
connect the first pressure gauge in its place.
2. Unscrew the bleeder valve from the front wheel cylinder located diagonally,
and connect the second pressure gauge in its place.
3. Increase hydraulic pressure by depressing the brake pedal several times firmly. (The second gauge shows the unregulated pressure that
develops in the system).
4. Set the brake system pressure (per the second gauge) in
accordance with the test table. Check the pressure in the rear wheel cylinder using the first gauge.
Warning.
When the pressure reaches 10 MPa, the readings of the first gauge will be
inaccurate.
5. Connect the gauges to the wheel cylinders of the second diagonal circuit and check the pressures against the test table.
