The floating disc brake caliper has one bore for the wheel cylinder piston. The caliper is mounted on the bracket of the front suspension strut. The floating caliper can move slightly along two guide pins in the axial direction.
When the brake pedal is pressed, the hydraulic pressure developed in the brake system is converted by the caliper mechanism into a force that presses the brake pads against the rotating disc.
The brake fluid pressure acts simultaneously on the wheel cylinder piston and on the floating caliper body.
When braking, the piston and the caliper move toward each other, ensuring synchronous pressing of the brake pads against the disc and slowing the vehicle.
When repairing the disc brake caliper, all parts included in the repair kit must be replaced.
To ease installation, lubricate the rubber parts with fresh brake fluid.
Do not blow or dry brake hydraulic components with compressed air from the shop air line, as oil contained in the compressed air will damage the rubber seals.
When removing or disconnecting brake lines and hydraulic components, it is necessary to
after assembly, bleed air from the entire system or individual circuits.
Brake pads must be replaced as a set.
The specified torque values for threaded connections apply to dry fasteners
parts without lubricant.
All repair work must be performed on a clean workbench. Take precautions to prevent contamination of parts.
Prevent contamination of the hydraulic system with mineral oils.
