PROCEDURE.
1. Using SCANNER-11, release the tension of the piston drive gears.
modulator block..
2. Negative battery cable..
3. Relieve pressure in the expansion tank by carefully removing the tank cap after the engine and coolant have cooled.
4. Clamp and hose from the expansion tank, see Disconnecting Hose from
expansion tank..
5. Electrical connectors of the solenoid valve and motor block, see Disconnecting Modulator Solenoid Valve Wiring Connector and Disconnecting Motor Block Electrical Connector.
Disconnect the modulator solenoid valve wiring connector. Disconnect the motor block electrical connector. Place a rag under the modulator block pipes to protect the electrical connectors from brake fluid.
Place a rag under the modulator block pipes to protect the electrical connectors from brake fluid.
6. Six brake pipes from the modulator block, see Disconnecting Pipes from Modulator Block. Plug the pipe openings to prevent contamination and brake fluid loss.
Plug the pipe openings to prevent contamination and brake fluid loss.
7. Remove three nuts, disconnect the ground wire and remove the modulator block assembly with motors from the vehicle, see Removal of Modulator Block Assembly with
Motors..
Installation
PROCEDURE.
1. Install the modulator block assembly with motors and the ground wire, install three nuts. Tighten the modulator block mounting nuts to 5.4 N·m. Remove the plugs from the brake pipe openings and modulator block fittings..
Connect the pipes to the fittings and secure with nuts. Tighten the union
nuts securing the brake pipes to 15 N·m..
2. Electrical connectors of the solenoid valve and motor block..
3. Hose to expansion tank. Secure the clamp..
4. Negative battery cable..
5. Bleed air from the brake hydraulic system..
6. Check the coolant level. If necessary, top up with a mixture
of ethylene glycol antifreeze and water in a ratio of 1:
1. Bring the coolant level to the normal level.
