Removal Note: To make it easier to reinstall the electrical wiring and washer hoses, tie a string to the end of the cables before removal. The string stays in the removed tailgate. During installation, the string can be used to pull the electrical wiring and washer hoses through more easily.

  • Unhook the cord for lifting the parcel shelf from the tailgate.

  • Bravo: unscrew the upper interior trim panels of the tailgate.

    Remove the trim panels in the order shown, from -1- to -3-.

  • Unscrew the 2 bolts for the tailgate trim panel.

  • Unclip the tailgate trim panel with the plastic wedge -1-.

  • Tie off and pull the hose from the washer jet.

  • Pull the rear window washer hose out of the tailgate.

  • Support the tailgate.

  • Pull the strut -1- off the ball joint on the tailgate.

    To do so, lift the clip -2- of the gas strut slightly with a screwdriver -3-.

  • Mark the installed position of the hinge bolts. To do so, circle the bolt heads with a felt-tip pen.

  • Unscrew the 4 bolts from the hinges and remove the tailgate with an assistant.

Installation Note: The contact surfaces of the hinges on the body are sealed with an acrylic adhesive. Before fitting the tailgate, remove the old sealant and apply new sealant, for example Fiat acrylic sealant type IVI 854.210.

  • Bolt the tailgate to the hinges.

  • Press the gas strut onto the ball joint.

  • Pull the washer hose through using the pulled-in cords.

    Insert the rubber grommet into the tailgate.

  • Push the washer hose onto the washer jet.

  • Close the tailgate and check the adjustment. If necessary, adjust the tailgate.

  • Clip in the tailgate trim panel and tighten the bolts.

  • Hook in the cord for the parcel shelf.
