The windshield/rear window is bonded directly into the flange of the window opening. This increases the torsional rigidity of the body and improves the seal against water ingress. It also reduces air drag and saves weight. Replacing the glass requires special tools and a certain amount of experience. For this reason, this work should be carried out by a workshop.
