When cranking the engine with the starter, depress the accelerator pedal approximately halfway.

If the engine fails to start due to excessively high ambient air temperature, depress the accelerator pedal fully while cranking the engine with the starter.

Turn the ignition key to the "START" position and, when the engine starts, release the ignition key and the accelerator pedal.
