SRS Supplemental Restraint System Maintenance
The SRS supplemental restraint system is maintenance-free and has no components or parts that you can safely service yourself. The SRS system as a whole should be inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealer every 10 years from the date of vehicle manufacture.
Any service work on the SRS supplemental restraint system (airbags) or on parts located nearby must be performed only by an authorized Hyundai dealer. Do not allow anyone other than an authorized Hyundai dealer to service, inspect or repair any SRS components or wiring, or to modify or remove these components.
Never install a rear-facing child seat on a front passenger seat equipped with an airbag.
Modifying SRS components or wiring, including attaching stickers to airbag module covers, may adversely affect SRS operation and may result in serious injury.
To clean airbag module covers, use only a soft dry cloth or a cloth lightly dampened with clean water. Cleaning solutions or cleaners may adversely affect the airbag module covers and their proper deployment.
Do not place any objects on or near the airbag modules in the steering wheel, instrument panel, or the panel above the glove box opposite the front passenger seat, as they may interfere with proper airbag deployment and may themselves cause injury by being propelled into the cabin with great force when the airbag inflates.
The SRS supplemental restraint system is designed for single use only. After deployment, the airbags cannot be reused. They must be replaced immediately, and the entire airbag system must be inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
Any work on SRS wiring or disconnecting it, as well as work on other SRS components, may cause the airbags to deploy unexpectedly or may impair airbag operation, which may ultimately result in serious injury.
If your vehicle has been submerged in water above the floor level, do not attempt to start the engine; tow the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealer.
