Hydraulic System
GENERAL INFORMATION
Bleed air from the hydraulic system if bubbles appear in the reservoir, or if clicking and excessive pump noise occur.A hissing noise during slow steering wheel rotation or straight-line driving is normal and does not indicate the need to bleed the hydraulic system.
Bleeding Air from the Hydraulic System
PROCEDURE
1. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on stands.
2. Check and, if necessary, restore the fluid level in the reservoir.
3. Have an assistant turn the steering wheel fully in both directions while you observe the fluid level.
4. If the level drops, add fluid.
5. Repeat these steps until the level stops dropping. Otherwise, there is a leak in the system.
6. Start the engine and repeat the procedure.
7. After the level stabilizes, lower the vehicle.
