Removal

PROCEDURE

1. Open the hood and mark the position of the hinges on the hood.

2. Release the washer hose from the clips and disconnect it from the nozzle.

3. Remove the bolts securing the hood to the hinges and, with an assistant, remove the hood.

4. Check the play of the hinge pins. If necessary, remove the two bolts and replace the hinges.

Installation

PROCEDURE

1. Install the hood, aligning it with the marks on the hinges, and tighten the bolts.

2. Connect the hose and route it into the clips.

3. Adjust the hood.

Adjustment

PROCEDURE

1. Close the hood and check the gaps with the adjacent body panels. If necessary, loosen the hood hinge bolts, adjust the hood position, and tighten the bolts.

2. After adjusting the hood, check the operation of the hood latch and adjust it if necessary. The latch should engage when the hood is 1.0–1.5 mm below the fender edge. Loosen the latch bolts, adjust the position, and tighten the bolts.

3. If necessary, adjust the height of the front edge of the hood by turning the rubber bumpers screwed into the front body panel.
