Control Rods

Removal

PROCEDURE

1. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on stands.

2. Remove the wheel.

3. Remove the rod nut on the knuckle housing and remove the washer.

4. Remove the rod nut (indicated by the arrows) on the body bracket, then remove the control rod.

Inspection

PROCEDURE

1. Inspect the control rods and bushings.

2. Control rods are replaced only as an assembly with bushings.

Installation

PROCEDURE

1. Install the control rod onto the stud on the knuckle housing, then install a new nut.

2. Install the control rod onto the bracket, insert the bolt, then install a new nut.

3. Install the wheel and lower the vehicle.

4. Rock the vehicle forward and backward, and bounce it up and down.

5. Tighten all nuts to the specified torque.
