Removal and installation

PROCEDURE

1. Open the hood.

2. Carefully move the front grille aside and remove the cable from the clips.

3. Remove the three bolts and remove the latch.

4. Pull the spring and disconnect the cable from the latch lever.

5. On some vehicles, unscrew the cable mounting bracket.

6. From the passenger compartment, unscrew the screw of the side trim panel in the driver's footwell. Remove the clip and disconnect the seal from the panel edge, then remove the panel.

7. Remove the two screws and remove the lever.

8. Remove the cable from the clips and pull it into the engine compartment. To simplify installation, tie a cord to the cable routing. On some vehicles, remove and move aside certain parts to access the cable.

9. Install the cable in the reverse order. Upon completion, check the operation of the latch.
