Luggage Compartment Lid Lock and Handle

Removal and installation

PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Remove the inner lid panels.

3. Disconnect the actuating rods from the lock.

4. Disconnect the luggage compartment light switch connector.

5. Remove the two bolts and take the lock out through the opening in the lid.

6. Install the lock in reverse order, making sure the rods are correctly installed.

Luggage Compartment Lid Lock Switch

1. Disconnect the battery ground and remove the inner lid panel.

2. Remove the 4 screws securing the handle trim panel from the inside.

3. Remove the nuts and release the clips of the trim panel.

4. Disconnect the sign illumination connector.

5. Disconnect the rod from the outside handle, remove the trim panel from the outside of the lid, and pull the sign wire grommets out of the holes in the lid.

6. Disconnect the rod from the lid lock.

7. Remove the two nuts (shown by arrows) and remove the lock switch from the outside of the lid. Remove the gasket.

8. Install the lock switch in the reverse order. Replace the gasket, check the rod connection, and check the lock operation.

Lock Retainer

1. Release the clips and remove the luggage compartment rear trim panel.

2. Remove the two bolts and remove the retainer.

3. Install the retainer in the reverse order.

Luggage Compartment Outside Handle

1. Disconnect the battery ground and remove the inner lid panel.

2. Remove the 4 screws securing the handle trim panel from the inside.

3. Remove the nuts and release the clips of the trim panel.

4. Remove the two screws and remove the handle.

5. Install the handle in the reverse order. Check the rod connection and check the lock operation.
