Removal

Belt routing: 1 - crankshaft; 2 - idler pulley; 3 - air conditioning compressor; 4 - power steering pump; 5 - alternator; 6 - automatic belt tensioner.

Note: on versions without air conditioning, pulleys - 2 - and - 3 - are omitted.

  • Release the V-ribbed belt by turning the centre screw - 6 - of the belt tensioner to the left, then remove the belt.

Installation

Fit the V-ribbed belt. Release the belt tensioner screw.

Caution: the preloaded spring in the belt tensioner ensures correct tension after a few engine revolutions.
