Measuring resistance
Before testing resistance, always make sure that there is no voltage present at the component to which the ohmmeter is connected. Therefore, always first disconnect the connector, switch off the ignition, remove the wire or unit, or disconnect the battery.
Otherwise, the meter may be damaged.

The ohmmeter is connected to the 2 terminals of a consumer or to the 2 ends of an electrical wire.
It does not matter which lead (+/-) of the meter is connected to which contact.
Resistance measurement on the vehicle is largely limited to 2 areas:
Checking a resistor or component integrated into the circuit.
"Continuity test" of an electrical wire, a switch or a heating element. This checks whether an electrical wire in the vehicle is interrupted and the connected electrical device therefore cannot function. For the measurement, the ohmmeter is connected to the two ends of the wire concerned.
If the resistance is 0 Ω, then "continuity" is present.
This means the electrical wire is in order. If the wire is interrupted, the meter displays ∞ Ω (infinite).
