Air Cleaner Filter Element Replacement

(every 24,000 km [15,000 miles] or every 12 months)

PROCEDURE

1. Replace the filter element at the intervals specified in the routine maintenance schedule. During vehicle operation, the condition of the filter should be checked fairly often, especially when driving in very dusty areas.

2. Unscrew the air cleaner cover retaining screws.

3. Lift off the cover.

4. Remove the filter element from the air cleaner housing, and immediately wipe the inside walls of the housing with a clean rag.

5. After removing the air filter element, take care not to drop any foreign objects into the air cleaner housing.
6. Install a new filter element in the air cleaner, making sure it is seated correctly.
7. Reinstall the air cleaner cover and secure it firmly with the screws.
