(every 48,000 km [30,000 miles] or 24 months)

PROCEDURE

1. MTF replacement must be performed strictly in accordance with the vehicle maintenance schedule.
2. Prepare a supply of fresh manual transmission fluid of the specified type (see Specifications).
3. Other required tools and materials include: safety stands for supporting the vehicle in the raised position, a 3/8-inch drive ratchet (with extension) and socket, a drain pan with a capacity of at least 4 L, and a supply of rags and/or old newspapers.
4. The oil should be drained after it has been warmed to normal operating temperature by a short drive. Hot oil has lower viscosity and flushes sludge and other deposits more effectively. After a short drive and warming the transmission to normal operating temperature, park the vehicle on a level, hard surface, raise it with a jack and support it on safety stands, providing free access to the transmission drain plug. Remove the plug and drain the oil into the prepared drain pan.
5. Install the drain plug and tighten it securely.
6. Fill the transmission case with the required amount of fresh manual transmission fluid of the specified type. The level is correct when the oil begins to flow out of the fill opening.
7. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
