REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. Remove the tailgate trim panel. Refer to the subsection Tailgate Trim Panel Removal and Installation.

2. Remove the lock from the vacuum hose connector –1– and disconnect it from the mounting element –2–.

3. Disconnect drive rod –3–.

4. Disconnect the clips of element –1– (arrow in the illustration) and remove the element downward.

5. Unscrew the nuts (arrows in the illustration) and remove locking mechanism –2– from the tailgate.

INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. Install the latch into the tailgate and secure it with nuts to a torque of 8 N·m.

2. Insert the latch from below into the tailgate and secure it.

3. Insert the drive rod –3–.

4. Connect the mounting element to the vacuum hose and secure it.

5. Install the tailgate trim panel. Refer to Removal and Installation of Tailgate Trim Panel.
