Data Recording
Many electronic components of your vehicle contain data storage units that temporarily or permanently store technical information about vehicle condition, events and malfunctions.
This technical information generally documents the condition of a component, a module, a system or the environment:
- Operating states of system components (e.g. fluid levels).
- Status messages of the vehicle and its individual components (e.g. wheel rotation speed/vehicle speed, deceleration, lateral acceleration).
- Malfunctions and faults in important system components (e.g. lights and brakes).
- Vehicle reactions in special driving situations (e.g. airbag deployment, activation of stability control systems).
- Environmental conditions (e.g. temperature).
This data is purely technical in nature and is used to detect and rectify faults and to optimize vehicle functions. Movement profiles of driven routes cannot be created from this data.
When service is used (e.g. for repairs, service procedures, warranty cases, quality assurance), this technical information can be read out of the event and fault data memories by service network personnel (including the manufacturer) using special diagnostic equipment. Further information is available there if needed. After a fault has been rectified, the information in the fault memory is deleted or continuously overwritten.
When using the vehicle, situations are conceivable in which this technical data, in combination with other information (accident report, vehicle damage, witness statements, etc.), could become personally attributable, possibly with the involvement of an expert.
Additional functions agreed with the customer under contract (e.g. emergency vehicle location) allow certain vehicle data to be transmitted from the vehicle.
Recommended Replacement Parts
Your vehicle was built from high-quality parts according to the strictest criteria.
We recommend that you always insist on the use of Ford and Motorcraft genuine parts when your vehicle is serviced or repaired.
You can easily identify Ford and Motorcraft genuine parts by looking for the marking Ford, FoMoCo or Motorcraft on the parts or packaging.
Maintenance Schedule and Mechanical Repairs
The best way to ensure a long service life for your vehicle is regular maintenance in accordance with our recommendations and the use of replacement parts that meet the specifications in this owner's manual.
Ford and Motorcraft genuine parts meet or exceed these specifications.
Collision Repairs
We hope you will never be involved in a collision, but accidents do happen. Genuine Ford collision repair parts meet our strict requirements for fit, finish, structural integrity, corrosion protection and deformation resistance. During vehicle development, we use testing to make sure these parts maintain the intended level of protection of the system structure. When you use genuine Ford collision repair parts, you can be confident that this level of protection is achieved.
Replacement Parts Warranty
Genuine Ford and Motorcraft parts are the only replacement parts covered by the Ford Warranty. Damage to your vehicle caused by non-Ford parts may not be covered by the Ford Warranty. For additional information, refer to the general Ford warranty terms and conditions.
Mobile Communication Device
WARNING
Distraction while driving can lead to loss of vehicle control, accidents and injuries.
We strongly recommend using such devices and their functions only with extreme caution so that your attention is not diverted from the road. Safe operation of your vehicle is entirely your responsibility. We advise against using hand-held devices while driving and recommend using voice-controlled systems where possible.
Make sure you are informed of all local laws that may affect the use of electronic devices while driving.
The use of mobile communication is increasing in business and in private life. However, the use of such equipment must never endanger your own safety or the safety of others. When used properly, mobile communication can significantly improve personal safety, especially in emergency situations. Safety must come first when using mobile communication equipment so that its benefits do not turn into the opposite. Mobile communication devices include, among others, mobile phones, pagers, portable e-mail devices, SMS devices and portable two-way radios.
