As a rule, three rocker switches in the Audi 80 are located under the center air vents on the instrument panel. In this case, a small shelf is located next to them. If there are more than two switches, a smaller shelf is used; with a full set of switches there is no room for it at all. Therefore, the removal of the switches differs slightly.


PROCEDURE

Remove the cap to gain access to the back of the adjacent switch.

Alternatively, pull out the felt cap and unscrew the Phillips-head screw behind it. Remove the shelf.

Version without shelf: remove the car radio (see description later in this chapter) and pull it out of the mounting opening with the wires still connected.

All versions: press the switch out of the mounting opening from the rear.
Disconnect the multi-pin plug.

Caps for installing new push-button switches are removed in the same way.
