On vehicles with the corresponding equipment, the headlight washer system sprays two jets of water onto the lens covers whenever the windshield washer system is activated with the low or high beams on. The washing process is controlled by a relay in the central control unit (see Body Electrical System). A separate pump is located at the bottom of the reservoir, the same as the windshield washer pump.


Add washer fluid and antifreeze to the headlight washer system in the same quantity as for the windshield washer system.


The headlight washer jets must strike the headlights at the correct point on the lens. If the washing effect is clearly unsatisfactory, adjust the spray with tool V.A.G. 3010 A.
