Switches in the armrest

~1min read

The upper strip of the left door armrest contains the electric outside rearview mirror adjustment switches and the power window switches. Removal:

PROCEDURE

Models with 4- and 5-cylinder engines: unscrew the Phillips-head screw(s) in the lower part of the armrest and remove this part.

Now the two screws in the upper part of the armrest (four in models without power windows) become accessible – unscrew them.

Slightly lift the upper part of the armrest with the switches and pull it rearward with force.

Now unhook the hooks on the front end of the armrest from the door trim edge.

Carefully pull the switch panel upward.

Models with 6-cylinder engines: loosen a total of three 4 mm Allen-head screws in the lower part of the armrest and remove the armrest.

Remove the switch panel from the armrest.

All models: disconnect the multi-pin plugs.

Release the plastic switch retainers and remove the switches downward from the plate.
