The battery charge indicator must not glow or flicker while the engine is running. Otherwise, there is a malfunction in the power supply. Refer to the troubleshooting list in the Alternator section. If the red lamp does not illuminate when the ignition is switched on, the bulb may have burned out, or the alternator cable is faulty or disconnected.
