Only the electrical part of the ignition lock is covered here. Repair of the lock mechanism must be performed by a workshop, because its removal requires drilling the housing at a specific point.


Removing the ignition switch
PROCEDURE

Remove the instrument panel (see the beginning of this chapter). The steering lock is now accessible from above.

Remove the protective varnish and unscrew the two small screws to the right and left of the steering lock switch component mounting.

Remove the switch (pull it rearward).

When installing the new switch, make sure the drive pin of the lock engages in the recess on the switch.

Install the screws and apply protective varnish.
