Rear Seat Belt Status Monitor

~1min read

After turning the ignition key to the

ON (II) position, the upper area of the multi-information display shows the status of all three rear seat passenger seat belts (whether the buckles are fastened or not).

This information remains on the display for 30 seconds. If the driver changes the display status by pressing the information button on the steering wheel, this information disappears from the display immediately.

The system thus determines whether the buckle of any of the three rear seat belts is fastened (or of two belts on Type-R models). The driver can see on the display which belts are not fastened and remind the passengers in time to fasten their seat belts. Indicators showing whether a rear passenger has fastened the seat belt are displayed on the right side of the upper area of the display.

) on the steering wheel several times to change the current display status.

If the system cannot determine the seat belt status, the display shows a symbol with three dashes (see illustration) or with two dashes on Type-R models. To reinitialize the system, turn the ignition key to the LOCK (0) position. If the seat belt monitoring system malfunctions, the supplemental restraint system (SRS) indicator also illuminates.
