Rear Window Heater

Rear window defogger
The rear window defroster is used to remove condensation, frost or a thin layer of ice from the surface of the rear window. Turn the ignition key to the ON (II) position. To turn the rear window defroster on or off, press the switch. The indicator light built into the switch illuminates when the defroster is on.
The rear window defroster also turns off when the ignition is switched off. After restarting the engine, turn the rear window defroster on again.
Before driving, always make sure the rear window is clean and provides sufficient visibility behind the vehicle.
The thin electrically conductive grid of the defroster bonded to the rear window, as well as the radio antenna wire, can be easily damaged. When cleaning the rear window, move the sponge from side to side in a horizontal direction, not vertically.
This button is also used to turn the outside rearview mirror heaters on and off. For more information, refer to page 173.
