To apply the parking brake, pull the lever fully up. To release the parking brake, proceed as follows:

Lift the lever up slightly, press the release button located on the end of the handle, then lower the lever. When the parking brake is fully released, the parking brake indicator on the instrument panel should go off (see page 77).

WARNING

Driving with the parking brake applied may lead to damage of the rear brake mechanisms and wheel hub bearings. If you try to start moving with the parking brake not fully released, a buzzer will sound.
