Immobilizer

~1min read

The immobilizer is an effective anti-theft device that helps protect the vehicle from theft. Attempting to start the engine with an incorrect key or any other tool will disable the engine fuel system.

When the ignition is turned on (key in the ON (II) position), the immobilizer indicator lights up briefly and then goes out. A flashing indicator means the immobilizer system did not recognize the key code. In this case, turn the ignition key to the LOCK (0) position and remove it from the ignition switch, then reinsert the key and turn the ignition on again by turning the key to the ON (II) position.

The system may fail to recognize the key code in the ignition switch if another immobilizer key or a metal object is nearby.

If the system repeatedly fails to recognize the key code, contact an authorized Honda dealer.

Do not attempt to modify or add to this system or any related devices.

This may interfere with the normal operation of the vehicle's electronic systems and make the vehicle unusable.

If a key is lost and the engine cannot be started, contact your dealer.
