Keys and Locks

~1min read

Two ignition keys are supplied with the vehicle.

Keep one of them in a safe place (not in the vehicle) and use it as a spare.

Each key fits all locks on the vehicle.

A key number plate is supplied with the key set. The key number may be needed to make replacement keys if keys are lost. Only blanks officially approved by Honda may be used to make replacement keys.

Remote Transmitter for Power Door Locks

The two keys include built-in remote transmitters for the power door locks. Refer to page 154.

These keys contain an electronic circuit with a code that is read by the vehicle immobilizer. Damage to the electronic circuit may make it impossible to start the engine.

Do not expose the keys to direct sunlight or high temperatures, and do not store them in areas of high humidity.

Do not drop the keys or place heavy objects on them.

Do not expose the keys to moisture.

If the keys get wet, wipe them dry immediately with a soft cloth.
