Headrests

~1min read

Page 16 contains important safety information on proper head restraint adjustment.

All seats are equipped with head restraints, which help protect the driver and passengers from neck injuries in a rear-end collision and from other injuries.

For head restraints to effectively perform their protective function, they must be adjusted in height so that the back of the head rests against the center of the head restraint.

Except "Type R" models

All head restraints can be adjusted in height. Adjust the head restraint position using both hands.

Do not adjust the head restraint while the vehicle is moving. To raise the head restraint, simply pull it up. To lower the head restraint, first press the lock release button on the side, as shown in the illustration, and lower the head restraint to the desired position.

Except "Type R" models

When a passenger is seated in the center rear seat, the head restraint of this seat must be in the fully raised position.

For all vehicle versions

To remove the rear seat head restraints for cleaning or replacement, or to fold the rear seat, proceed as follows. Press the lock release button, then pull the head restraint out of the seatback.
