Heated windows and mirrors are important comfort and safety features on the Ford Mustang (VI Gen). This chapter shows how to effectively keep the rear window and outside mirrors clear of fog or ice. It also covers the cabin air filter, which keeps the vehicle interior clean and free of allergens. Information on its location and regular replacement ensures long-term performance. This keeps the interior clean, clear and comfortable in every season.

Heated Windows and Mirrors

Rear window heating

Note: Make sure the engine is running before you turn on the heated windows.

Press the button to clear light ice or fog from the rear window. The heated rear window switches off automatically after a short time. Start the engine before you turn on the heated rear window.

Note: Do not use razor blades or other sharp objects to remove stickers from the heated rear window. Damage to the heating elements of the heated rear window is not covered by the vehicle warranty.

Heated Outside Mirrors

When you turn on the heated rear window, the heated outside mirrors turn on automatically.

Note: Never use a scraper to remove ice from the mirrors or to straighten frozen mirror glass.

Note: Never clean the mirror housing or glass with abrasive cleaners, gasoline or any other petroleum-based cleaner.

Cabin Air Filter

Your vehicle is equipped with a cabin air filter, which provides the following benefits for you and your passengers:

  • It improves your driving comfort by reducing the concentration of particles.
  • It improves the cleanliness of the interior.
  • It protects the climate control components from particle buildup.

You will find the cabin air filter behind the glove box.

Note: Always make sure a cabin air filter is installed. This prevents foreign objects from entering the system. Operating the system without a filter could degrade or damage it.

Replace the filter regularly.

For more information about the cabin air filter or how to replace it, contact an authorized dealer.
