This chapter explains the function of the climate control system in the Ford Mustang (VI Gen, 2014–2023) and its influence on driving comfort and visibility. All ventilation modes, such as fresh air, recirculated air, and heating and cooling of the cabin, are presented in detail. Fresh air

Keep the air intakes in front of the windshield free of foreign objects (for example snow or leaves) so that the interior climate control can work effectively.

Recirculated air

WARNING

Windows may fog up during prolonged recirculated air operation. If the windows fog up, use the windshield defog settings.

The air in the passenger compartment is recirculated.

No outside air enters the vehicle.

Heating

Heating output depends on the engine coolant temperature.

Close all windows completely.

Heating the interior

Direct the air toward the footwell. In cold or humid weather, direct some of the air toward the windshield and door windows.

Cooling the interior

Direct the air toward the head area.

Air conditioning

For cooling, the system routes air through the evaporator. The evaporator removes moisture from the air so that the windows stay free of fog. The moisture produced is discharged outside the system, which is why a small puddle may form under the vehicle. This is normal.

Note: The air conditioning only operates at temperatures above 4 °C.

Note: When the air conditioning is in use, your vehicle consumes more fuel.
