Checking the Engine Oil
- Park the vehicle on level ground.
- Check the oil level before starting the engine. Or switch off the engine and wait 15 minutes so the oil can drain back into the oil pan.
- Pull out the dipstick and wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth. Reinsert the dipstick, then pull it out again to read the level.
If the oil level has dropped to the MIN mark, add oil immediately. See Technical Specifications.
Do not use engine oil additives. They are not necessary and can cause engine damage that may not be covered by the vehicle warranty.
Note: Make sure the oil level is between the MIN and MAX marks.
Note: On new engines, oil consumption only stabilizes after approx. 5,000 km.
