Tire pressure and the tire repair kit are key safety topics for the Ford Mustang (VI Gen). This chapter explains how to check tire pressure correctly, warns against incorrect tires, and describes the components of the supplied tire repair kit. The use of the kit in the event of a tire puncture is also described step by step. These instructions enable a temporary repair until you reach the next workshop. Drivers benefit from clear recommendations on storage, use and care, for optimal mobility even in an emergency.

General Information

A label with the tire pressure information is located in the driver's door opening.

Check and adjust the tire pressure when the tires are cold and at the ambient temperatures intended for vehicle operation.

Note: For optimal fuel economy, check the tire pressure regularly.

Note: Use only wheels and tires of the approved sizes. Using other sizes may cause damage to the vehicle and invalidate the general operating permit.

Note: If you change to a tire circumference different from the factory specification, the speedometer reading may

no longer be accurate. Have your vehicle taken to an authorized dealer to have the engine control system reprogrammed.

Tire Repair Kit

Note: The repair kit contains only enough sealant to repair one tire, which is in the container.

Replacement containers with sealant are available from a Ford authorized dealer.

The kit is located in the trunk under the cargo floor panel. The kit consists of an air compressor to reinflate the tire and a container of sealant that effectively seals most holes caused by nails or similar objects.

This kit allows temporary repair of a tire. You can drive your vehicle up to 200 km at a maximum speed of 80 km/h to reach a tire service center for tire replacement.
