Arming and Disarming the Alarm

The alarm is armed and disarmed at the same time as the vehicle is locked and unlocked using the remote control.
At a BMW service center, you can have various signals programmed to confirm arming and disarming of the alarm.
The upper tailgate can also be opened after the vehicle has been armed by pressing the indicated button on the remote control, see page 30. Once the tailgate is closed, the alarm will again protect it.
Unlocking the vehicle by turning the key in the door lock triggers the alarm.
