X5 3.0d: The auxiliary fuel-operated heater quickly warms the interior when the engine is cold. Exhaust gases are discharged through outlets located under the driver's door sill. If the engine is switched off before it has reached operating temperature, the auxiliary heater continues to operate for some time. Exhaust gases are released during this time.
