Operation in detail

Auxiliary Heating

~1min read

The auxiliary heating is installed only together with the auxiliary ventilation, whereas the auxiliary ventilation can be installed separately.

Both systems are controlled via the Multi-Information Display (MID), see page 83, or the on-board monitor, see the separate Owner's Manual.

Before entering the vehicle, you can warm up the interior by programming the start time of the auxiliary heating with two timers. A warmed-up interior makes it easier to clear snow and ice from the vehicle.

The system switches off automatically after 30 minutes. It can also be switched on and off directly. Due to high power consumption, do not activate the system twice in succession. First allow the battery to recharge while driving.

The system operates at outside air temperatures below 166 if a start time is programmed, and at any temperature when switched on directly.

Heated air is directed to the windshield, side windows and footwell, which provides the maximum effect of the system.

With the ignition key in position 1, you can adjust the airflow intensity, distribution and temperature inside the vehicle. After switching off, the system continues to run for some time, although its indicator lamp goes out immediately.
