Automatic Diagnosis System - Messages After Switching Off the Ignition

After the ignition key is turned to position 0, fault messages that have already appeared while driving are displayed one after another.

Depending on the circumstances, the following instructions may also be displayed:

► "LIGHTS ON" (Lights on) This message appears at the end of a journey after the driver's door is opened.

A warning tone also sounds.

► "CHECK ENGINE OIL LEV" (Check engine oil level) Top up the engine oil at the earliest opportunity, for example while refueling.

After the ignition key has been removed and the display has gone out, the messages can be viewed for another three minutes by pressing button 3. If there is more than one message, press the button repeatedly.
