Safe Transportation of Children
Children must ride in the rear
Children under 12 years old and under 150 cm tall may only be transported on the rear seat using a suitable restraint system. Otherwise, the risk of injury in an accident increases significantly.
Exception: front passenger seat. In principle, all seats in your vehicle, except the driver's seat, are suitable for installing universal child restraint systems for all age groups (each group requires its own system).
If, contrary to the recommendations, you still decide to install a child restraint system on the front passenger seat, be sure to deactivate (disable) the airbag on that side.
A deployed airbag can seriously injure a child, even when a child restraint system is used. BMW Service will be glad to advise you on this matter.
