Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)
Operating principle: The ABS system prevents the wheels from locking during braking and improves active safety of the vehicle. Even with the brake pedal fully depressed, you retain control of the vehicle.
ABS also provides the functions of the Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) system. For safe braking, refer to ...
Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) The EBD system regulates the brake pressure at the rear wheels, ensuring braking stability.
Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) Dynamic Brake Control actively assists the driver during braking in an emergency situation. When the brake pedal is pressed abruptly, the system builds up boost at an early stage, which allows the braking distance to be reduced to a minimum. The advantages of the ABS system are also utilized.
Keep applying the brake pedal for as long as braking is required. The DBC system switches off when the brake pedal is released.
Malfunctions: Be sure to refer to the information on the various indicator lamp combinations on page 18.
