Vehicle Memory, Key Memory - Extensive Possibilities
A BMW Service Center will inform you about the possibilities offered by "Vehicle Memory" and "Key Memory".
In this Owner's Manual, you will find this symbol at the relevant places. It draws your attention to programming possibilities.
After the memory functions have been set, changes not reflected in this Owner's Manual may appear in the vehicle's systems controls. If you ever decide to sell your vehicle, be sure to contact a BMW Service Center beforehand to have all memory functions returned to their original state.
Examples of "Vehicle Memory" settings:
► different signals confirming locking and unlocking of the vehicle;
► switching the "Welcome Lighting" function on/off;
► switching the daytime running lights on and off;
► selecting the units of measurement for the outside temperature and mileage displayed in the instrument cluster.
Examples of "Key Memory" settings:
► locking the vehicle after it starts moving;
► automatic adjustment of the driver's seat, outside mirrors and steering column to the position programmed for the particular user when the vehicle is unlocked, see page 49;
► two-stage unlocking – first the driver's door and only then all other locks, see page 29.
