This section describes voice command and steering wheel control operation in the Ford Mustang VI Generation. Detailed explanations show how to operate volume, media sources and phone calls. The physical controls on the instrument panel are also explained. Using Voice Recognition

Using voice commands allows you to keep your hands on the steering wheel and concentrate on the road ahead. Depending on the situation and the selected level of interaction, the system provides feedback through tones, prompts, questions and spoken confirmations.

The system also asks short questions (confirmations) if it did not understand your request or if several responses to your request are possible.

When using voice commands, words and symbols appear in the status bar that provide information about the status of the voice command session. See Using Voice Recognition.

Using the Steering Wheel Controls

Depending on the vehicle and equipment package, you can interact with the touchscreen system in different ways using the various steering wheel controls.

VOL: Adjusts the volume of the audio output.

MUTE: Mutes the audio output.

VOICE: Press this button to start a voice session. Press it again to end the voice prompt and begin speaking. Press and hold to end the voice session.

SEEK FORWARD:

• In radio mode, use these buttons to seek between preset stations.
• In USB, Bluetooth audio or CD modes, press this button to seek between tracks, or press and hold it to fast seek.

SEEK BACKWARD:

• In radio mode, use these buttons to seek between preset stations.
• In USB, Bluetooth audio or CD modes, press this button to seek between tracks, or press and hold it to fast seek.

PHONE ANSWER: Press to answer a call or switch between calls.

PHONE REJECT: Press to end a call or reject an incoming call.

Note: On some models, SEEK FORWARD may share a function with PHONE REJECT, and SEEK BACKWARD may share a function with PHONE ANSWER.

M: Touch the control repeatedly to switch between the different media sources (modes).

Using the Bezel Controls

Depending on the vehicle and equipment package, the following controls may be available on the instrument panel:

• On/Off: Switches the audio system on and off.
• VOL: Adjusts the volume of the audio playback.
• Seek and Tune: Same use as in the audio modes.
• Eject: Ejects a CD from the audio system.
• SOURCE or MEDIA: Press repeatedly to scroll forward through the available media modes.
• SOUND: Use this button to access the sound menu to adjust tone and other audio settings.
• 1-6: Press and hold to store, or press to select, preset AM, FM or DAB stations from the preset memory. See Audio System.
• DISP: Turns the display on or off. The display can also be turned back on by touching the screen.
• Climate control buttons: Adjust temperature, fan speed or climate control settings.
