Honda Accord Vehicles - Overview
The vehicles covered by this manual are available in two body styles: 2-door Coupe and 4-door Sedan.
The 4-cylinder inline or 6-cylinder V-type (V-6) gasoline engines used on these models are mounted transversely at the front of the vehicle and are equipped with an electronic fuel injection system.
The vehicles have front-wheel drive and may be equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Power is transmitted to the wheels through independent drive shafts.
All four wheels have independent suspension and coil spring strut-type shock absorbers.
The rack-and-pinion steering gear is hydraulically assisted and is located behind the engine.
The front brakes are disc type. The rear brakes may be either disc or drum type. Most models come standard with an anti-lock brake system (ABS).
