Refueling the Vehicle

~2min read

Type of Fuel Used

For KY models:

The engine is designed to operate on leaded gasoline with an octane rating of 92 or higher. The use of unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 92 or higher is also acceptable.

For all models except KY:
Vehicles with 1.6, 1.8 and 2 L engines must be operated on unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of not less than 95 (research octane number - RON).

For refueling vehicles with the 2.2 L engine, use unleaded fuel with an octane rating of not less than 98 (RON). Situations may arise where gasoline with the required octane rating is not available at the service station. In these cases, gasoline with an octane rating of 95 may be used. The engine control system adapts to the gasoline being used; however, some reduction in output power as a result of this substitution is unavoidable.

Operating the vehicle on leaded gasoline may cause failure of the catalytic converter and the engine itself. Also do not forget about the factor of environmental pollution.

Checks and Procedures

Refueling the Fuel Tank

Gasoline is a flammable and explosive substance. Careless handling of gasoline may cause burns or other serious injuries. When refueling the fuel tank, turn off the engine. Do not bring hot or sparking objects close to the fuel filler opening. Do not smoke at the filling station. Perform all fuel system service operations only in the open air. If gasoline splashes onto exposed skin or painted body surfaces, wipe it off immediately with a dry cloth.

The fuel filler neck is located on the left side of the vehicle, so approach the fuel dispenser at the filling station with the left side of the vehicle.

Open the fuel filler door by pulling the handle located next to the driver's seat, on its left side.

Slowly turn and remove the cap from the filler neck.

Unscrewing the cap may be accompanied by a characteristic hissing sound caused by fuel vapors escaping from the tank. Some models are equipped with a special holder located on the inside of the filler door, designed to temporarily secure the fuel filler cap while refueling the vehicle.

Заправку следует прекратить, как только произошло автоматическое выключение насоса

Stop refueling as soon as the fuel dispenser pump shuts off automatically. Do not try to overfill the tank. Leave free space for fuel expansion when it heats up.

Screw the cap onto the fuel filler neck and tighten it securely. You should hear at least two clicks from the cap ratchet.

Close the fuel door and press it firmly until the latch engages.
