Cargo Carrying in the Vehicle
The vehicle is equipped with several compartments for storing items being carried.

Small items can be stored in the storage compartments inside the vehicle. These include the main glove box in the instrument panel, door pockets and seatback pockets, and the storage box built into the center console.
Large items should be placed in the luggage compartment. Long items can be carried thanks to the folding rear seatbacks.
Note, however, that improper cargo loading can adversely affect the handling and stability of the vehicle and therefore reduce safety. Before carrying any cargo in the vehicle, read the information below.
Cargo Carrying
Maximum Vehicle Load Capacity
Exceeding the maximum permissible load capacity of the vehicle or improper placement of cargo can cause a road traffic accident and result in injury or even death to the driver or passengers in the vehicle. Do not exceed the maximum permissible gross vehicle weight when loading the vehicle, or any other limits specified in this Manual.
When carrying cargo in the vehicle, note that the total vehicle weight must not exceed the maximum permissible value. Total vehicle weight includes: curb weight, the weight of the driver and passengers, the weight of any trailer hitch installed on the vehicle, and the tongue weight of the trailer. For any loading configuration, axle loads must also not exceed the maximum permissible values. Maximum permissible values for gross vehicle weight and axle loads are given in the Specifications.
Carrying Cargo in the Passenger Compartment
Secure all items placed in the passenger compartment to prevent them from shifting in the event of a road traffic accident.
Do not place large items on the rear shelf. They restrict the driver's field of view and can be thrown forward in a collision or sudden braking.
Make sure items placed on the floor behind the front seats cannot roll forward, cannot interfere with the driver's free operation of the pedals under any circumstances, and cannot disturb the front seat position adjustment.
Keep the glove box closed while driving.
Transporting Cargo in the Luggage Compartment or on a Roof Rack
Distribute the load evenly, placing luggage as close to the seats as possible. Heavy items must always be placed at the bottom, on the floor of the luggage compartment. Secure all cargo firmly with strong cord so that it cannot shift while the vehicle is in motion. Never stack luggage higher than the top of the front seatbacks.
When transporting large or long items with the rear seats folded down, secure them firmly with strong cord to prevent the load from shifting during emergency braking. Do not stack luggage higher than the seatbacks, to avoid reducing the driver's field of vision.
For instructions on folding down the rear seatbacks and returning them to their original position, refer to the section Vehicle Equipment, Location of Instruments and Controls.
If it is necessary to transport long items that prevent the tailgate/luggage compartment lid from closing, be aware that exhaust gases may enter the passenger compartment. Take the appropriate precautions (refer to the section Vehicle Safety Systems).
When loading cargo on a roof rack, make sure the total weight of the luggage does not exceed the permissible value. For more detailed information, contact a Honda service station.
