Steering Wheel Controls
Cruise Control System
The cruise control system is standard equipment on some models and optional on others. The system automatically maintains the selected cruising speed without the driver pressing the accelerator pedal. The cruising speed must not exceed 40 km/h. Cruise control is especially convenient during long drives on lightly traveled straight highways. For safety reasons, do not use cruise control in city traffic, on winding or curvy roads, on slippery road surfaces, in heavy rain, or in other adverse weather conditions. In the situations listed above, the driver must be able to fully control the vehicle.
Improper use of cruise control may cause a traffic accident. Use the cruise control system only on clear highways and in favorable weather conditions.
During system operation, the accelerator pedal may move automatically. Do not hold the pedal with your foot, to avoid damage to the pedal support and pivot mechanisms.

Cruise Control Operation
Press the cruise control main switch button located on the control panel under the steering wheel. The indicator lamp built into the switch button should illuminate.
Accelerate the vehicle to the required cruising speed, which must not be less than 40 km/h.

Press and hold the "SET/DECEL" button on the cruise control switch mounted on the steering wheel assembly until the CRUISE CONTROL indicator lamp on the instrument cluster illuminates. The indicator lamp coming on means the cruise control system has engaged and begins maintaining the cruising vehicle speed selected by the driver.
Be aware that the actual vehicle speed may deviate slightly from the selected value at various times, especially when driving on hilly terrain. When vehicle speed increases on downhill grades, hold the vehicle speed by depressing the foot brake pedal. This will disengage the cruise control. To reactivate it, press and hold the "SET/DECEL" button until the CRUISE CONTROL indicator lamp on the instrument cluster illuminates. On uphill grades, to maintain the set speed, the automatic transmission may downshift.
The cruising speed maintained by the system can be changed in one of three ways described below:
a) Press and hold the "RESUME/ACCEL" button. The vehicle should begin to accelerate smoothly. When the vehicle speed reaches the required value, release the button;
b) Slight acceleration can be achieved by pressing the "RESUME/ACCEL" button several times in succession. Each press will increase vehicle speed by approximately 1.6 km/h;
c) Press the accelerator pedal and accelerate the vehicle to the required speed, then press the "SET/DECEL" button.
There are also several ways to reduce the vehicle cruising speed:
a) Press and hold the "SET/DECEL" button. The vehicle should begin to decelerate smoothly. When the vehicle speed reaches the required value, release the button;
b) Slight deceleration can be achieved by pressing the "SET/DECEL" button several times in succession. Each press will reduce vehicle speed by approximately 1.6 km/h;
c) Briefly press the foot brake pedal lightly. The CRUISE CONTROL indicator lamp on the instrument panel should go out. When the vehicle speed decreases to the required value, press the "SET/DECEL" button. The system will now maintain the new selected cruising speed.
Even with cruise control engaged, the driver can still use the accelerator pedal to accelerate and pass other vehicles. After completing the pass, release the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle should automatically return to the previously selected cruising speed.
Prolonged depression of the foot brake pedal will disengage cruise control.

Cancelling Cruise Control
Cruise control can be cancelled in one of three ways described below:
a) Briefly press the foot brake pedal;
b) Press the "CANCEL" button on the cruise control switch mounted on the steering wheel;
c) Press the cruise control main switch button.
When the "CANCEL" button or the foot brake pedal is pressed, the CRUISE CONTROL indicator lamp on the instrument cluster should go out, and the vehicle will begin to decelerate. From this point, the driver can continue operating the vehicle normally using the accelerator pedal. The cruise control memory will retain the last selected cruising speed. To return to it, accelerate the vehicle above 40 km/h, then press and hold the "RESUME/ACCEL" button. Keep the button pressed until the CRUISE CONTROL indicator lamp illuminates, after which the vehicle will automatically accelerate to the speed stored in memory, which will be maintained until further changes are made.
Pressing the cruise control main switch button completely turns off the speed control system and clears the memory.
