Instrument Cluster - Indicator Lamps

~6min read

The instrument cluster incorporates a complete set of indicator lamps that inform the driver about the operating status of the vehicle's main components and systems. The layout of the indicator lamps on the instrument panel is shown in the illustration. The following information describes the operating principle of each indicator lamp.

Battery Charging Indicator Lamp

The charging indicator lamp should illuminate when the ignition switch is turned ON and go off immediately after the engine starts. If the lamp illuminates while the engine is running, it warns the driver of a malfunction in the charging system, and the battery is discharging. Immediately turn off all electrical loads that are not essential for driving safety, and try to avoid stopping the engine, as attempting to restart it may completely discharge the battery. Drive the vehicle to the nearest service station immediately for diagnosis and necessary repair.

двигательного маслаEngine Oil Pressure Indicator Lamp

The engine oil pressure indicator lamp should illuminate when the ignition switch is turned ON and go off immediately after the engine starts. If the lamp flashes while the engine is running, it indicates pulsating reduction of engine oil operating pressure. If the indicator remains illuminated, it means the oil pressure has dropped to a dangerously low level, which may cause serious internal engine damage, up to and including engine failure. In both cases, take immediate action to check the engine oil level and identify and correct the cause of the pressure loss.

двигателяEngine Immobilizer System Indicator Lamp

This indicator lamp is provided only on vehicles equipped accordingly. It should illuminate briefly when the ignition switch is turned ON. If the lamp flashes, the immobilizer system has not recognized the ignition key transponder code, and the engine cannot be started. The lamp also starts flashing when the ignition key is turned to the ACC and LOCK positions.

исправности функционирования систем двигателяEngine Malfunction Indicator Lamp

The lamp illuminates briefly when the ignition switch is turned ON. If it illuminates at any other time, it indicates a possible malfunction in one of the engine systems, including the emission control systems. Even if there are no visible signs of powertrain malfunction or reduced vehicle performance, the malfunction detected by the lamp may cause increased fuel consumption or higher exhaust emissions. Ignoring the lamp may result in serious engine damage, up to and including engine failure. If the lamp illuminates while driving, stop the vehicle immediately in a safe place and turn off the engine. After a short time, restart the engine and observe the lamp. If the lamp does not return to normal operation and remains illuminated, drive the vehicle to the nearest service station for detailed diagnosis and necessary repair. Until the engine system malfunction is corrected, drive at moderate speed and avoid rapid acceleration with the accelerator pedal fully depressed.

Even if the lamp returns to normal operation (i.e., goes off) after the engine is restarted, consult a service station at the first opportunity, especially if the lamp has illuminated more than once.

Continued operation of the vehicle with the engine malfunction indicator lamp illuminated may cause premature failure of the catalytic converter. Remember that the manufacturer's warranty does not cover failures and damage resulting from operating the vehicle with the indicator lamp illuminated!

дальнего светаHigh beam indicator lamp

This indicator lamp illuminates simultaneously with the activation of the vehicle's high beam headlamps (see below).

стояночного тормоза/отказов тормозной системыParking brake/brake system malfunction warning lamp

This warning lamp remains illuminated continuously when the parking brake is applied, reminding the driver to release the parking brake before driving. Driving with the parking brake applied causes rapid overheating and failure of the rear brake assemblies and premature wear of the rear tire treads, and may also cause the anti-lock brake system (ABS) to malfunction (see below).

If the warning lamp remains illuminated after the parking brake is released, or comes on while driving, this usually indicates an excessive drop in brake fluid level. One possible cause of a gradual drop in brake fluid level is normal wear of the brake pad friction material. If the warning lamp illuminates, have the vehicle taken to the nearest service station to inspect the condition of the brake pads and check the brake hydraulic system for leaks.
The warning lamp also illuminates briefly when the ignition is switched on (even with the parking brake released).

If this warning lamp illuminates together with the ABS warning lamp (with the parking brake released), or while the vehicle is in motion, this indicates a malfunction in the vehicle's brake system.

дополнительной безопасности (SRS)Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) warning lamp

This warning lamp illuminates when the ignition is switched on and should go out immediately after the engine starts. If the lamp remains illuminated with the engine running (either steadily or flashing), this indicates a malfunction in the SRS components. On vehicles so equipped, illumination of this warning lamp may indicate a malfunction in the side airbag circuits or the automatic pretensioner seat belt devices.

темпостатаCRUISE indicator lamp (cruise control)

On vehicles so equipped, this indicator lamp illuminates when the automatic vehicle speed control system (cruise control) is switched on (see below).

ремни""Fasten Seat Belts" warning lamp

On some models, a seat belt warning lamp may be combined with the turn signal indicator in the instrument cluster (see below). This warning lamp reminds the driver and passengers to fasten their seat belts. If the driver has not fastened the seat belt, a buzzer also sounds for a short period. The warning lamp remains illuminated until the seat belts are properly fastened.

The warning lamp and buzzer will not operate if the driver fastens the seat belt before switching on the ignition.

ABS warning lamp

On vehicles so equipped, this warning lamp illuminates when the ignition is switched on and goes out immediately after the engine starts, confirming that the anti-lock brake system circuit is functioning properly. Illumination of the warning lamp under any other conditions indicates that the self-diagnostic system has detected a malfunction in the ABS circuit. Have the vehicle taken to the nearest service station without delay for detailed system diagnosis and the necessary repairs.

When the warning lamp is illuminated, the anti-lock brake system is deactivated; however, the vehicle's brakes continue to operate normally, providing adequate braking performance.

запаса топливаLow fuel warning lamp

This lamp illuminates when less than 9 L of fuel remains in the fuel tank, warning the driver to refuel the vehicle as soon as possible.

закрывания дверейDoor ajar warning lamp

Illumination of this warning lamp indicates to the driver that one or more doors are not fully closed.

закрывания крышки багажного отделенияTailgate/liftgate ajar warning lamp

This warning lamp indicates to the driver that the luggage compartment lid is not fully closed.

Turn signal indicator lamps

Two arrow-shaped indicator lamps illuminate green and confirm that the corresponding turn signals are operating properly. The direction of the indicator arrows matches the selected direction of the vehicle's turn. The indicator lamps flash at the same rate as the turn signals. Rapid flashing of one of the indicator lamps usually indicates a burned-out bulb in the corresponding turn signal. Replace the burned-out bulb at the first opportunity to avoid creating hazardous situations on the road.

Simultaneous flashing of both turn signal indicator lamps usually accompanies activation of the hazard warning lights.

On some models, a separate hazard warning indicator lamp is installed in the instrument cluster.которая обычно устанавливается вместо контрольной лампы "пристегните ремни". В этомThis lamp is usually installed in place of the "Fasten Seat Belts" warning lamp. In this case, the turn signal indicator lamps must not flash when the hazard warning lights are activated.
