However, the manufacturer issues parts lists for production parts, so the information encoded in the vehicle identification numbers is especially important when purchasing parts. When ordering a required replacement part, provide the seller with as much information about your vehicle as possible. Be sure to state the model name, model year, and the body and engine numbers.
