Cassette Deck - Music Search Function

~2min read

The deck allows you to search for a desired recording during playback. Searching is performed using the tape fast-forward and rewind buttons "FF", "REW", "RPT" or "SKIP".

Fast forward and rewind. The two buttons "FF" and "REW" are used to activate fast forward and rewind modes. To rewind the tape quickly, press the "REW" button. Fast forward is performed with the "FF" button. The display will show the corresponding letters. To stop fast forward or rewind, press the "PLAY" button. If the end of the tape is reached in fast forward or rewind mode, the direction of tape travel automatically reverses and playback begins from the other track of the tape.

Skip mode. Skip mode allows you to skip a song or section of a recording on the audio cassette tape. To activate skip mode, press the "SKIP FF" or "SKIP REW" button, depending on whether you want to skip the section before the current playback point or the section after it. To return to the beginning of the song or section currently playing, press the "SKIP" and "REW" buttons simultaneously. The display will show "REW" while the tape rewinds. To go to the beginning of the next song or section, press the "SKIP" and "FF" buttons simultaneously. The display will show "FF" while the tape fast-forwards. When the system detects the start of the next recording on the tape, playback mode activates automatically.

Repeat playback. This function automatically repeats playback of the same recording multiple times. The function is activated by pressing the "RPT" button. The "RPT" indicator appears on the radio control display. When the end of the current recording is reached, the tape automatically rewinds to the beginning of this recording. The player will continuously play the same recording until the "RPT" button is pressed again.

The skip and repeat functions described above rely on the gaps between individual recordings on the magnetic tape. These functions may not work correctly if the pauses between recordings are too short or if the background noise level in the pauses is excessive. In addition, if there are pauses within a recording, the player will interpret them as gaps separating individual recordings on the tape.
