PROCEDURE.

1. Determine the plate size numbers by measuring the transverse dimension of the lock cylinder in the planes of the plate positions (1st through 10th) using a vernier caliper. Record the measurement results.

2. Starting from the first position, insert the springs and locking plates into the

corresponding holes and slots of the lock cylinder. When doing so, be guided

by the key code. The ignition lock cylinder uses 10

locking plates.

Warning.

When installing the springs and locking plates in the lock cylinder, lubricate the moving parts with a thin layer of

multipurpose grease.

PROCEDURE.

1. Apply grease to the guide element and spring, and install them into the cylinder seat. Align the locking plates by inserting the ignition key into the cylinder.

2. Apply grease to the inner surface of the lock housing bore and insert the cylinder into it.

3. Install the steering column spring and pin, after lubricating them with

grease.
